A Polish man working in Highland Perthshire has been named the UK's Most Heavenly Builder. Janusz Jolkowicz, 41, was given the award for his positive attitude, determination and craftsmanship.

A teenager who attacked a Polish visitor to Bradford with a brick has been locked up for 40 months. Marcin Kuciaki, who had come from Scotland to visit friends, needed 48 stitches in his head and face after he was attacked by Daniel Andre near the BP service station on Haworth Road.

   Britain's Polish community gathered in London to honour the 90th anniversary of their native country's independence.
